The Maury County Fire Department is welcoming 18 new recruits to the volunteer department.
The new emergency responders join the county’s fire service after spending more than 100 hours studying and training to earn their badges and positions in the department.
“Join us in congratulating these new community servants and excellent MCFD representatives.”
– said Savannah Maddison, a spokesperson for the Maury County Fire Department in a press release.
The new recruits will join the department’s team of more than 150 volunteer firefighters.
The department operates from 11 stations scattered across Maury County’s 620 square miles of land, one of the largest counties in the state, inhabited by about 100,000 people, using a fleet of 50 vehicles.
